Microsoft’s New Web Browser: Internet Explorer 8

Microsoft has released a new version of it’s Internet Explorer web browser.  The new version, Internet Explorer 8, has quite a bit of re-working and new features.  In true Microsoft fashion, many cutting-edge features from other web browsers have been incorporated and renamed with a new buzz word.  Also, many of the new features in Internet Explorer 8 that could have been implemented on websites with current web based technologies have been done in a proprietary manner.  Thus,  websites must modify their code in some instances to work properly with the new IE8 browser.  Pitfalls aside, there are some exciting features in this latest incarnation of IE.  In my personal experience with Internet Explorer 8 running on Vista, I’ve found it much more stable, renders webpages much faster, and has some really nice usability improvements over the previous Internet Explorer version 7.  All-in-all it’s worth giving a try in my opinion; below is a link to the Microsoft Internet Explorer 8’s homepage, as well as links to videos that detail the use of some of the new features.
