PHP Development Under MS Windows

Thanks to Sun Microsystems, PHP development under Microsoft Windows operating systems has just gotten easier.  The powerful and flexible NetBeans IDE (Integrated Development Environment) now supports the open source PHP programming language.  Developing full featured web applications that require PHP and a MySQL database back-end can be developed locally on a Windows workstation with NetBeans in conjunction with XAMPP.  XAMPP is an extremely easy to install Apache distribution containing MySQL, PHP, and Perl.  All the applications included in XAMPP are pre-compiled binaries that run under MS Windows 2000, Windows XP (Home and Pro), and Vista.  Best of all, these applications cost nothing!  Check out the links below for more information and download locations for Sun’s NetBeans IDE and Apache Friends’ XAMPP.
